Every citizen of India should get the right to internet use and online communication under the Constitution.. This right will help combat Corona-like pandemics as it is urgently needed.
This was observed by Ajay Data, Global Chairman UASG & Co Chair ICT, FICCI India while speaking on as Facebook Live organized under the series started by MPPost as part of celebration of two decades of positive digital journalism. He spoke in detail about self reliant India’s amazing VideoMeet App: 2000 People Together today. Sarman Nagele editor of MPPost moderated the session.
Ajay Data said that the goal of the Universal Acceptance Steering Group – UASG is to ensure that all Domain Names and email addresses are accepted equally. Domain names and email addresses could be could be in any Global language.
The UASG comprises the world’s 500 tech institutions including Facebook, Google, Microsoft Apple. The Government of India has started the process of assigning domain names in Hindi in all languages.
He said that efforts have been dedicated to communicating with people easily using the Video Meet app.
Ajay Data, Co-Chair ICT, FICCI India said that the Video Meet app is a step to maximize use of webinars, conferences, education, virtual rally, digital politics, and promote digital democracy in India .
He said that along with Digital India, there should be focus on Safe India as well. The poor children should be enabled to take up education if delivered online. They must be provided mobile phones by the government.
