Prime Minister Narendra Modi Takes a Liking to Madhya Pradesh Govt’s Initiatives and Efforts
CM Dr. Yadav says MP regards the PM as its role model and is moving forward following his example at every step

Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi’s deep affinity for Madhya Pradesh is evident from the fact that he mentions MP in almost every episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Shri Narendra Modi made a special mention of the state on Sunday, 27 September 2026, in the 138th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’. Madhya Pradesh always stays in the Prime Minister’s view, and whenever the occasion arises, he is sure to mention it. He has praised Madhya Pradesh in Mann Ki Baat nearly a dozen times.
In the 138th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ 27 Sept2026, PM Narendra Modi made a special mention, saying that 2nd October – the birth anniversary of revered Bapu – is just a few days away. Bapu gave us many mantras for life, and cleanliness is one of them. He said that many efforts related to cleanliness are often seen around us, and these efforts are very inspiring and encouraging. Such pictures, videos, and reels on social media repeatedly catch our attention. In recent days, he had seen several such efforts. Somewhere in Madhya Pradesh, some young people are working to clean a river, and the entire community is joining in their small effort. Similarly, youth are cleaning old step wells and wells, which is helping restore and revive our old heritage sites.
One thing is evident, quite naturally, in all these efforts – somewhere it began with one person, then a few more people joined in, and the movement kept growing – this, indeed, is public participation (jan bhagidari). Cleanliness is also our most beautiful tribute to Bapu.
He said that when we protect the environment, we are not only saving trees, plants, or wildlife – we are strengthening the entire ecosystem of life. Some efforts happening in different parts of the country are bringing this spirit to light in a very beautiful way.
The Prime Minister had earlier praised Madhya Pradesh’s efforts while welcoming cheetahs brought from Namibia and South Africa to Kuno National Park in Sheopur district. He particularly commended the role of local ‘cheetah mitras’ (cheetah friends), who are creating awareness among people about wildlife conservation and ecological balance.
He mentioned the ‘Jal Saheli’ campaign run by women of Bundelkhand (Chhatarpur) for water conservation. He described how these women worked hard to revive an ancient pond, calling it an excellent example of women’s empowerment and water conservation.
He praised the ‘Didi Vahan Seva’ launched by women of the Rural Livelihood Mission in Jhabua district. This service provides free transportation assistance to pregnant women and patients in emergency situations.
The work done in MP under Digital India and e-governance – such as the digitisation of land records and the e-Seva portal — has been described as a model of good governance, and the increase in public participation through it has been commended.
He referred to Vichharpur village in Shahdol as ‘Mini Brazil’. He described how this tribal-dominated area has become a hub of emerging football stars. He praised the efforts of former national player and coach Raees Ahmed, who inspired the children. Today, more than 1,200 football clubs are active in and around Shahdol. Along the same lines, he shared the story of the global impact of this football revolution. He recounted that when he mentioned Vichharpur on an international podcast, veteran German footballer and coach Dietmar Beiersdorfer was deeply impressed on hearing it. The German coach offered to train the talents from this region, following which the Madhya Pradesh government reached out to him. Under this partnership, it was decided to send four young football players from Vichharpur village, along with a coach, to a German academy for special training. To promote a sporting culture in the state, the Prime Minister also praised the country’s first Khelo India Water Sports Festival, held in Madhya Pradesh, and commended tribal woman Meena Rahangdale of Chich village in Balaghat and her group, who left their jobs as labourers in a rice mill to set up their own rice mill and create employment for other villagers.
Responding to Mann Ki Baat and the PM remarks, MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the way the PM specifically highlighted the commendable efforts of MP youth in river cleaning, as part of public participation towards cleanliness, is worth emulating. He said the Prime Minister shared inspiring thoughts on important subjects such as de-addiction, environmental protection, nutrition, providing opportunities to sporting talent, and preserving our rich cultural heritage. The Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh, considering the Prime Minister as its role model, is progressing every moment and continuously moving forward on the strength of innovative initiatives and untiring efforts.
