Madhya Pradesh Becomes the Country’s Second-Largest Contributor to the Digital India Mass Movement

According to a report by the Government of India, based on the number of e-services, Madhya Pradesh has achieved 100% online implementation of its 59 mandatory services. All these services are being made available on a single platform through the MP e-Service Portal – including numerous services such as birth-death certificates, income/caste/domicile certificates, licenses, tax payments, and grievance redressal. This portal connects services from 56 departments of the state, eliminating the need for citizens to visit different offices. The Karnataka government offers 2,102 e-services, while Madhya Pradesh offers 1,752. Madhya Pradesh has achieved 100% availability of its 59 mandatory e-services.
Madhya Pradesh (MP e-Seva), which delivers 100% of services – over 90% of services are delivered by states and union territories through their designated integrated service delivery portals. In addition, Madhya Pradesh’s 141 Digital Solutions have also been counted on the India Stack Local Dashboard of the National e-Governance Division.
The Madhya Pradesh government has made major budget provisions this year related to information technology, online services, and the expansion of Digital India. These include:
Investment and Industrialisation (including IT Parks): A total budget provision of Rs 5,957 crore has been proposed for industrial development, investment, and the development of IT parks in the state. Under this allocation, work is underway to develop 48 industrial parks across 19,300 acres of land, including 5 IT parks, a plug-and-play park (Indore), and flatted industries currently under development.
MSME and IT Promotion: Rs 1,550 crore has been provided under the scheme for MSME promotion, business investment promotion, and the expansion of IT and technical facilities.
Digital India and IT Innovation in Government Functioning:
M.P. e-Seva Portal & App: The M.P. e-Seva Portal and mobile app have been launched to provide online facilities to citizens, integrating more than 600 services from various departments.
Digital Currency (CBDC): A digital currency system (CBDC) has been implemented to make payments seamless, transparent, and error-free.
Digital Police and Justice System: 25,000 tablets are being provided for the e-Vivechna app, and the e-Sakshya app is in operation.
e-Agriculture Services: For farmers’ convenience, Agri-GIS, the MP Kisan mobile app, AgriStack, and the e-Vikas portal are being used.
Digital Health: Under the digital health initiative, various hospitals across the state have been connected through an integrated digital network.
The Madhya Pradesh Council of Ministers has recently approved Rs 62 crore for the Sampada e-Registry scheme under the Commercial Tax Department, and Rs 46.37 crore for the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme scheme.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that his government’s people-friendly policies and better administration are its topmost priority. He said the government is continuously working for public welfare under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Whether it is through digital governance or bringing transparency under Digital India, the government will make every possible effort to achieve zero corruption. He added that the state is therefore keeping pace with the nine pillars of Digital India, and that there will be no shortage of budget for this purpose.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has repeatedly described Digital India not merely as a government programme, but as a campaign for social and economic transformation. According to him, digital technology has narrowed the distance between villages and cities. He has called platforms such as UPI, DigiLocker, Aadhaar, CoWIN, and digital payments India’s new identity. Digital India is no longer just a government programme – it has become a mass movement.
With an outlay of nearly Rs 40,000 crore, India’s Digital India programme has transformed the way citizens across the country connect, learn, transact, and access government services. Over the past 11 years, India has built, at a massive scale, one of the world’s largest digital public infrastructure ecosystems. Digital platforms have expanded access to healthcare, education, skilling, agriculture, and welfare schemes, particularly in rural and underserved areas. India has also emerged as a global leader in digital payments and digital governance innovation. With ‘India Stack’ reaching several countries, Digital India is strengthening India’s global leadership in inclusive, citizen-centric, and technology-driven development.
According to the State of India’s Digital Economy Report released by the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), India ranks third in terms of the digitalisation of its economy.
