Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh meets the standards of E.S.G. (Environment, Social Responsibility and Governance) of Industrial Development. The state has a clean environment, good work is being done under Corporate Social Responsibility and we are committed to good governance.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has said that We are not just heart of India but people with heart (Madhya Pradesh Bharat ka dil hai aur hum dilwale). The location of Madhya Pradesh is the best from the point of view of establishment of industry and we the people of the state love everyone. Whoever visits us, becomes our very own.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has all facilities and favourable environment for investment. Madhya Pradesh is among the leading states of the country in ‘Ease of Doing Business’. Come, invest in Madhya Pradesh, earn profits for yourself and provide employment opportunities to the people of Madhya Pradesh. This is my request as well as a challenge to you.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan today attended the main session of ‘Horsasis India Meeting 2021’ through video conferencing from his residence. This session was organized on ‘Madhya Pradesh – India’s Emerging Economic Tiger’.
Favourable environment for industries
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is an island of peace. It has a very conducive environment for industries. Here energy is abundant with mineral, water and forest wealth. Apart from this there is plentiful of land, skilled human resources, industrial peace, industrial areas etc. Our investment policy is industry friendly. We take full care of the requirements of the investors and give them packages generously.
Madhya Pradesh is number one in agriculture sector
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is number one in the agriculture sector in India. The Basmati rice and Sharbati wheat here are unmatched. Horticulture and medicinal crops are abundant. There is also a huge potential for investment in the pharmaceutical sector. Madhya Pradesh is a five-time winner of the Krishi Karman Award . The agricultural growth rate of the state is around 20 percent. In Madhya Pradesh, special attention is being paid to value addition, food processing and organic farming of agricultural products.
Immense mineral wealth
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh abounds in mineral wealth. Here diamond, limestone, coal, manganese, iron etc. are available in abundance. More and more mineral based industries should be set up here.
The Sun shines for 200 days in a year in Madhya Pradesh
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has a lot of potential in the field of renewable energy. Here the sun shines 200 days in a year. The first floating solar power plant is being set up at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh. After the installation of Asia’s largest solar plant of 151 MW in Neemuch, now Rewa too has a solar plant of 750 MW.
Textile and Garment Sector
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has huge potential in textile and garment sector. The state has a suitable environment for ginning, spinning, garmenting the entire value chain of the textile sector. Madhya Pradesh is traditionally the home state of Chanderi sarees, Maheshwari sarees and Bagh print. Our policy is liberal and progressive.
Prospects in Automobile and IT sector
There is huge potential in the field in Automobiles and IT sector in Madhya Pradesh. IT Parks have been established in Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur. We have Special Economic Zone (SEZ) here.
Toy Cluster in Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh has 30 percent forest cover. There is a good potential for bamboo based industry and furniture manufacturing. Toy cluster is also being developed here. Skilled human resources are available for these sectors.
Development on the lines of Singapore
Skill development is being done in Madhya Pradesh on the lines of Singapore. Global Skill Park is being built here in collaboration with Singapore. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that when he went to Singapore, he saw Sentosa Island there on the lines of which, Hanuwantia has been developed in Madhya Pradesh.
Huge tourism potential
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh also has immense potential for tourism. Madhya Pradesh is a Tiger State and sometimes tourists even get a chance to shake hands with tigers. There are 11 national parks in the state and Sanchi, Khajuraho and Bhimbetika are included in World Heritage.
Work on Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is moving fast in the direction of realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat. The road map of Atmanirbhar Madhya Pradesh is ready and work is being done on its four main pillars, infrastructure development, good governance, health and education and economy and employment.
Nowhere more facilities to investors than Madhya Pradesh
Chairman of Avaada Group Shri Vineet Mittal said that investors are not getting more facilities in any other state than Madhya Pradesh for setting up and running industries. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan takes personal interest in this work and encourages industries and investments. It is my good fortune that I have got a chance to invest in Madhya Pradesh.
Basmati Rice and Sharbati Wheat of Madhya Pradesh are famous in the world
Shri B Thiagarajan, Chairman, C.I.I. West Zone and Managing Director, Blue Star Limited, conducted the session. He said that Chief Minister Shri Chouhan deserves congratulations for the manner in which Madhya Pradesh has operated industries while maintaining effective control over Corona during the Corona period. Basmati rice and Sharbati wheat of Madhya Pradesh are famous all over the world. Most importantly, Madhya Pradesh loves all.
In the beginning of the session, Principal Secretary Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Shri Sanjay Kumar Shukla gave a power point presentation regarding the industrial development, industrial scenario and investment policy of Madhya Pradesh.
What is Horasis
Horasis is an independent international forum of intellectuals, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. It was founded in the year 2005 by Frank Jürgen Richter, former Director of the World Economic Forum. Its main theme is economic development. Every year its ‘Horasis Global Meeting, Horasis China Meeting, Horasis India Meeting and Horosis Asia Meeting’ are held, in which a large number of economists, industry representatives, people associated with trade-business, scientists, government officials and intellectuals participate.
