MPPost, 30 April 2022, Bhopal. Two districts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhindwara and Morena are going to have Centers of Excellence for orange and Vegetable production respectively.
These centers are being set up in collaboration with Israel’s Agency for International Development.
Besides, in the irrigation sector. preliminary work is also being done on water projects in the Bundelkhand region.
India and Israel are in cooperation in other potential areas like water management.
According to official information available with the MPPost, out of 31 centers of excellence in agriculture in Israel, two centers are being established in Madhya Pradesh. In this, orange production in Chhindwara and vegetable production in Morena will be promoted.
Mr. Yair Eshel, who is looking after agricultural affairs at the Embassy of Israel, also visited the area in the past for the location for the third center to be set up in Harda district.
Harda Collector Rishi Garg says that Harda district is an agricultural district. The advanced farmers want the Center of Excellence to open here. The guidance they get will definitely be beneficial. The Israel team has seen three locations, one was good where initial process of setting up the center for vegetables has started.
Israel’s Consulate General Mr. Kobbi Shoshani recently met Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan and was prepared for collaborative work in the areas of agriculture project in Madhya Pradesh with the cooperation of Israel and also gave some suggestions .
Israel’s Agency for International Development is leading the India-Israel Agriculture Project as a technical partner.
Israel’s Agency for International Development . In order to increase the income of farmers, centers of excellence in horticulture sector are being developed in Kutch district of Gujarat with the help of Israel. Now being prepared in Madhya Pradesh.
It is noteworthy that the Center of Excellence in Kutch was jointly organized to make the farmers financially capable and to double their income.
According to Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi, Israel has shown the way to the whole world that how can a radical change can be brought about in a country dominated by agriculture. The Prime Minister believes that it is imperative to use technology in the agriculture sector. He also underlined that India is taking innovative steps towards doubling the income of farmers. He said that it is very important to focus on innovative methods of farming along with irrigation.
