Mohan Government Invites Online Applications for the Post of Madhya Pradesh State Chief Information Commissioner

In a novel initiative, the Madhya Pradesh government has invited online applications for the appointment to the post of State Chief Information Commissioner in the State Information Commission.

The General Administration Department of Madhya Pradesh has fixed the last date for submitting online applications for the post of State Chief Information Commissioner in the State Information Commission as September 25, 2026, up to 05:00 PM. Inspired by the Digital India Program dedicated to the public a decade ago by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has launched a special campaign under Good Governance to bring various governance and administrative operations online. According to official information received by mppost, as part of this effort, the Madhya Pradesh government has taken a new step by inviting online applications for the appointment of the State Chief Information Commissioner in the State Information Commission.

Candidates have been asked to provide details including the applicant’s name, father’s/husband’s name, date of birth, educational qualifications, experience details in law, science and technology, social service, management, journalism, mass media, or administration (from current to past experience), specific qualifications, notes regarding renown/acclaim in the relevant field, current profession, and details of any pending criminal cases or departmental inquiries. If the applicant has been penalized in any criminal case or departmental inquiry, details regarding the same must also be provided.

Additionally, the process requires applicants to upload a single PDF file containing a passport-size photograph, educational qualification certificates, and all other relevant supporting documents to substantiate all provided facts and uploaded documentation.

The tenure of former IPS officer Vijay Yadav, who is currently serving in the position of State Chief Information Commissioner in the State Information Commission, is ending on October 19, 2026. Therefore, the state government has initiated the process. Meanwhile, dozens of individuals with experience in law, science and technology, social service, management, journalism, mass media, and administrative service are making efforts to secure this post.
