As India accelerates its efforts to attract $100 billion in annual Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav is continuously implementing innovative strategies to draw global investors.
Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as the new gateway to global investment because it is attracting not only corporate giants but also the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. Rohit Dixit, Founder of Friends of Madhya Pradesh (FOMP) UK, stated that FOMP UK, in collaboration with FICCI Europe, is actively mobilizing MP’s exporters, the government, and non-resident Indians (NRIs) running businesses in the UK’s MSME sector to invest in Madhya Pradesh.
₹7,800 Crore in Foreign Investment Moves to the Ground
A total of ₹7,800 crore in foreign investment is transitioning from corporate promises to reality on the ground in Madhya Pradesh. The Government of Madhya Pradesh has officially allotted land for the following landmark projects, which are progressing rapidly toward completion:
Haleon (UK): Has initiated its ₹3,000 crore pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Pithampur, Indore.
McCain Foods (Canada): Setting up a ₹3,800 crore food processing unit in Agar Malwa, Ujjain.
TruAir Splitwaters (USA): Establishing a ₹500 crore renewable energy project in Mohasa, Narmadapuram.
Boo Young Scheicorp (South Korea): Launching a ₹225 crore leather and footwear unit in Gwalior.
Effibar & Clinisupplies: Setting up a combined ₹334 crore medical devices manufacturing hub in Ujjain.
Commenting on the development, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said:
“Our focus has never been on signing MoUs just for optics. When we visited London and other international destinations, we assured investors that our priority is getting projects off the ground. The result of that commitment is this ₹7,800 crore investment, which will fundamentally transform the industrial landscape of Madhya Pradesh. Global companies are choosing MP out of preference, not obligation, and this government has left no stone unturned to build that perception.”
Mr. Brian McNamara, CEO of Haleon (UK), expressed his optimism:
“This is our first unit in India, and we are absolutely delighted to come to Madhya Pradesh. India is a fast-growing economy, and Madhya Pradesh is its fastest-emerging state.” He added that the company has already commenced its investment process and plans to further expand its unit in Pithampur, the logistics hub of Central India.
Submer Technologies to Power MP’s Digital and Green Revolution
During Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s visit to Barcelona last year, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of Madhya Pradesh (GoMP) and global tech giant Submer Technologies. The agreement aims to put the state on the global map of digital and eco-friendly innovation by developing a 1 Gigawatt (1,000 MW) ‘AI-ready’ net-zero digital infrastructure.
Following the MoU, a Letter of Intent (LOI) was officially signed during the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026 held in Delhi. Advancing this collaboration, high-level follow-up meetings were recently conducted between the Madhya Pradesh government and the Submer leadership team. The meetings were attended by MP Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, officials from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), and senior executives from MPSEDC.
As a direct follow-up step, an MoU has also been inked with ‘MPOnline’. Furthermore, Submer’s India Head, Anupam Shrivastava, recently completed a site inspection for land in Bhopal.
Dev Tyagi, London-based President of Submer, highlighted the impact of the project:
“This historic agreement with the Government of Madhya Pradesh will shape the trajectory of India’s digital future. This initiative will drive energy and water conservation while creating world-class opportunities for local youth.”
